Photos show how SF Bay Area storm flooded city streets

Oakland has recorded its wettest day since 1970, and elements of Lake Merritt stuffed to the brim. San Francisco got here near hitting an all-time highest rainfall in over 170 years, and lots of neighborhoods skilled mudslides and dramatic flooding.

Transportation has been in chaos throughout the area as main roads, together with Freeway 101 in south San Francisco, have been flooded and closed for hours.

As rain continued on Saturday, stories piled up within the space, flooding, garages flooded, vehicles caught in massive puddles and timber toppled.

The Bay Space went into cleanup mode with a pause within the rain on Sunday.

Matt Robinson, spokesman for the Workplace of Emergency Companies, stated: “We’ve had lots of people leaving their autos. “There are presently ongoing rescue missions.”
