Groundbreaking band King Stingray is able to ramp up the thrill with a one-off youth present on the Sydney Myer Music Bowl on March 31 as a part of Reside on the Bowl.
Northeast Arnhem Land favorites will rock the Bowl with their distinctive Yolŋu surf-rock fashion that mixes components of previous Indigenous tunes with surf, indie and funk.

We’re so excited to have King Stingray on the Bowl for this live performance. This shall be a giant occasion. It is so thrilling to have such an unimaginable solid on an all-ages present on the Bowl. We need to create an atmosphere the place younger folks can roam and really feel linked.
It has been an awesome yr for the band, with Triple j showing on Reside on the Wi-fi, ABC’s The Sound, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, and triple j being named Unearthed Artist of the 12 months on the J Awards.
The band’s arrival in 2022 was epitomized by a powerful acceptance with 5 nominations on the ARIA Awards and eventual recognition as Michael Gudinski’s Groundbreaking Act.

King Stingray is the story of a lifelong friendship and the approaching collectively of two cultures. With robust ties to Northern Territory Arnhem Land, founding members Yirrŋa Yunupiŋu (soloist) and Roy Kellaway (guitar) grew up collectively in Yirrkala. The duo adopted of their musical footsteps with Yothu Yindi’s Dr M. Yunupiŋu’s nephew Yirrŋa and Stuart Kellaway’s son Roy.

The band’s identification was solidified in 2020 with the addition of guitarist and Didgeridoo participant Dimathaya Burarrwanga and bassist Campbell Messer. Since then, the group has cast robust chemistry and connection on stage.
A magical headline live performance on the iconic Sydney Myer Music Bowl serves as a becoming platform for rising stars who shall be supported by particular friends to be introduced quickly.
