Baby pygmy hippo moves to public display at Metro Richmond Zoo

Chesterfield, Va. (WWBT) – A pygmy hippo born earlier this month It may now be considered by the general public on the Metro Richmond Zoo.

“There are viewing home windows within the indoor pool space and company can now see the mom and child on the zoo every single day,” the zoo stated in an announcement on Friday. “Iris and her cub will keep on this space till the infant is sufficiently old to navigate the outside habitat.”

The zoo says the infant, born on December 6, went swimming for the primary time this week.

“Iris confirmed her child across the new space after which confirmed him how you can get into the pool,” the zoo stated in an announcement on Friday. “The infant adopted the mom fastidiously to the water. Regular however nonetheless exceptional, the calf’s pure instincts kicked in and it began swimming straight away.”

The infant has not been named but.
